Refractometers provide critical information to ensure product quality.  They are also widely used for controlling the concentration of various industrial fluids cutting lubricants, flux rinsing compounds, firefighting foam or other water based industrial products.  All our Refractometers are supplied with the correct calibration fluid and reference block where appropriate.

 This range covers a wide range of applications. The Milwaukee MR series has been developed for working with sugar related liquids of Fruit, Milk Products, Years Cultures, fruit juices, soft drinks, wine etc., to help monitor and control of sugar concentrations in these foods and beverages. These instruments can be used for checking the ripeness of fruit in the field, verifying product quality after harvesting, or controlling water concentrations during processing and packaging.

THE POPULAR RANGE OF GRAPE MUST REFRACTOMETERS

These Refractometers have been developed for working with alcohol related wines. They can be used to measured the sugar in grapes to determine the best time to harvest and produce wine.  All our Refractometers are supplied with the correct calibration fluid and reference block where appropriate.

THE POPULAR RANGE OF SALINITY REFRACTOMETERS

These range of Refractometers are designed for testing the concentration of salt water and brine. They provide a direct reading of the concentration (Parts per Thousand) of salt in water.   The MR110ATC proves itself invaluable for aquarium, agriculture, food processing and wildlife management. This instrument is equipped with Automatic Compensation making it ideal for field use.  All our Refractometers are supplied with the correct calibration fluid and reference block where appropriate.

HONEY MR90ATC     This model has been designed for the measuring of the three common indexes of Honey, sugar content, Baume and water content.

PROTEIN SERUM MR512ATC     This model has been designed to measure for the quick determination of protein in serum and urine specific gravity.

BATTERY/COOLANTS/CLEANER RHA200ATC    This model has been designed to measure the freezing point of either ethylene glycol or propylene glycol based cooling systems.  It can be used for checking the strength of electrolyte solution batteries.

 

 

 

Range of Refractometers For Agri-food Applications

The MR series refractometers are precision optical Instruments used for measuring concentrations of substances in aqueous solutions.  They work using the principle of light refraction through liquids. When passing light through a liquid the refracted angle will be shown on the scale determining the amount of dissolved solids in the liquid.  Very simple to use: simply place one drop of your sample on the prism and read the results on the scales immediately!  They have adjustable focus and they provide direct readings and can measure concentrations of all kinds of solutions such as: fruit juices, beverages, wine, jam, honey, milk, salt water, brine, canned foods, cleaning fluids, battery fluids, antifreeze etc.  Models with automatic temperature compensation (ATC) are suitable for applications where the temperature of the samples varies.

Milwaukee refractometers work in ambient light with no battery or other power source necessary. They can be used in labs or in the field. Simply place a couple of drops of the sample on the prism and read the results immediately.  The refractometers have rubber coated hand grip and construction to insulate the test solution and avoid inaccuracy caused by the body heat of the user. All of our refractometers have Automatic Temperature Compensation (ATC): when temperature of product sample varies from 68°F (20°C), readings are automatically adjusted to compensate for temperature variance between 50°F to 86°F (10°C to 30°C). Easy to recalibrate with distilled water. Covered eyepiece and bright clearly defined scale, with large easy to read measurements.  They are supplied in a hard carrying case, instructions and screwdriver for calibration.

Calibration

1. Lift up the daylight and put one or two drops of distilled water on the prism.  Close the daylight, confirm that distilled water has spread over the entire prism surface.

 

2. Turn the bright direction and look at the scale through the eyepiece.  If the boundary line doesn’t coincide with 0% turn the scale adjustment screw with a screwdriver until it does.

 

MR713ATC,714ATC & 715ATC are refractometers used to measeure Cowberry Vaccinium vitis-idaea.  The fruit juiced obtained from cowberry fruit can be measured in Brix(%) °Oe and KMW.  These measurements can be used for other fruit juices.
